OH. MY. LAWD.
What a crazy semester this has been for the New Media Club!
We’ve accomplished so much in such a short span of time: Education Under Fire, Damien’s scholarship video, Q & A with the Marble Hornets creators and the Adult Swim Carnival! In shorthand: we’ve achieved more in one semester than most clubs complete in a couple of years. Everyone who’s a part of New Media Club, pat yourselves on the goddamn back.
While this last meeting was shorter than others and more of a “breather,” we still had two presentations given by some lovely locals in the Auburn community.
The first was by Sergio Gallardo and Zach Welman, two young entrepeneurs who are starting an online news magazine for college students called “The Handle Magazine.” Focusing on issues in the Southeast, they were specifically looking for a webmaster, writers and photographers. Anyone who is interested or wants more information can email them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The second was by Cher, another spritely Auburn-ite who informed us about Summer Solstice Soiree, a music and arts festival, that will be occurring in Loachapoka on June 23rd and 24th. If anyone wants to help contribute time, money or artwork to sell then please come to the next meeting where the little lady will have more official information to share!
We planned to end on a movie night, but everyone agreed that was just a silly idealistic idea and nobody wanted to be a Communist…☭ Wolfgang!
